Partnerships with Public Entities
The GDHCC Procurement Department is in charge of three major contracts with the Dallas Independent School District, the City of Dallas, and the Dallas County Community College District. The main purposes of these contracts are to increase the number of registered M/WBE in each entity vendors list, increase the number of M/WBE certification, and increase the opportunities
of a M/WBE to do business with either three public agencies.
Procurement Center
Both the Maple BAC and the Oak Cliff BAC have procurement centers where GDHCC members
and clients can come to find small business resources. Staff helps with the online registration
of Vendor List for the City of Dallas in this center.
In conjunction with the Business Assistance Center, the Procurement Department helps clients complete the necessary paperwork required to become certified as M/WBE. Current certifications that can be completed are the NTRCA, DFW MBC, WBC Southwest, HUB, and SBA 8 (a).
Economic Development Update
Sent once a week, this newsletter provides information on training and developing events in the DFW area. Links to major public entities and their current bids are included (DISD, DART, DCCCD, DFW, City of Dallas). “Bids at a Glance” provides Request for Proposals from the above entities and others.
Roundtable Sessions
During this structured event, buyers from corporate and public entities will discuss the contract opportunities available and the processes of doing business with such entities. Vendors introduce themselves and their company, and have five minutes to talk about the products and services their company offers. The sessions can be organized both industry related or hold a diverse
group of corporate and public entities.
Procurement Breakfast
These breakfasts are held once a month and hosted by the GDHCC and the MBDA. During the event, M/WBE have the opportunity to present themselves and their companies. Soon after
all short presentations are made, the vendors stay to network.
For more information, call Ms. De Leon at (214) 523-3431.
